Pune Water Cut: Major Water Supply Disruption Across the City on Thursday, April 23
Pune, 20th April 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a city-wide water supply closure for Thursday, April 23, 2026. The disruption is due to urgent electrical, pumping, and civil maintenance work scheduled at various major water treatment plants and pumping stations across the city.
According to a press note issued by the PMC’s Water Supply Department, the water supply will be completely shut off starting from Wednesday midnight (12:00 AM) until Thursday midnight (12:00 AM). Furthermore, the civic body has warned that the water supply on the following day, Friday, April 24, will likely be delayed and operate at a lower pressure than usual.
Nandkishor Jagtap, Chief Engineer of the Water Supply Department, has appealed to all citizens to take note of this schedule, store adequate water in advance, and cooperate with the municipal corporation.
The maintenance work will be carried out at several key facilities, including the New and Old Parvati Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Vadgaon WTP, Cantonment (Lashkar) WTP, Warje WTP, SNDT, Chaturshringi, Holkar, Khadakwasla, and the Bhama Askhed WTP, as well as various newly incorporated village booster stations.
Major Areas Affected by the Water Cut:
Central Pune & Peth Areas (Parvati MLR & LLR Tanks): All city Peth areas (Guruwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, Nana Peth, Bhavani Peth, etc.), Dattawadi, Rajendranagar, Lokmanya Nagar, Deccan, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Quarter Gate, and Parvati Darshan.
South Pune (Parvati HLR, Vadgaon & Rajiv Gandhi Pumping): Sahakarnagar, Padmavati, Bibwewadi, Mukund Nagar, Maharshinagar, Gangadham, Kondhwa Khurd, Katraj, Dhankawadi, Ambegaon (Khurd and Budruk), Dhayari, Bharati Vidyapeeth area, Yewalewadi, and Sundarban Society.
Eastern Pune & Cantonment (Lashkar WTP/Kharadi Pumping): Pune Camp, Sassoon, Kharadi, Chandannagar, Ramtekdi, Hadapsar Gaothan, Mundhwa, Magarpatta, B.T. Kawade Road, Koregaon Park, Phursungi, Uruli Devachi, Bhekrainagar, and surrounding societies.
West Pune (Warje WTP & SNDT Tanks): Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Warje, Bavdhan, Pashan, Baner, Balewadi, Gokhalenagar, Model Colony, Senapati Bapat Road, Erandwane, Ideal Colony, and NDA Road.
North Pune & Nagar Road (Chaturshringi & Bhama Askhed): Aundh, Bopodi, Khadki, Pune University area, Lohegaon, Viman Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, Kalyani Nagar, Vishrantwadi, Tingre Nagar, and Phulenagar.
Newly Merged Villages (Booster Pumping): Khadakwasla, Nanded, Kirkatwadi, DSK Vishwa, Shivane, and Dhayari.
Citizens are advised to plan their water usage accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the 24-hour shutdown.
