Pimpri-Chinchwad, 13th November 2022: The water supply in Pimpri-Chinchwad city has been disrupted for the last four days. Due to this, the residents of the city are suffering a lot of inconveniences. Citizens and public representatives are complaining that the unplanned management of the water supply department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is responsible for this situation.

The water supply in Jadhavwadi, Borhadewadi, Moshi, Dudulgaon, Charholi, Wadmukhwadi, Chovisawadi, Panjarpol, Sector 12, Indrayaninagar, and other areas of the municipality’s C, E and F zonal office limits was completely disrupted on Friday. The reason given was that the work of connecting sub-channels to the main channel had begun. The work could not be completed till late. The municipality claimed there will be water with low pressure the next day.

The water supply could not be restored even on the second day. On the third day, the water supply was disrupted in Ward No. 11, 12, and 13 within the F Regional Office. The reason given then was that the water lines suddenly started leaking. As a result, the citizens were inconvenienced by water logging in this area for two days. Some parts of the city have been facing acute water problems for some days.

In this regard, the Head of the Water Supply Department, Shrikant Savane, said that considering the population growth rate of the city and the future population, the municipality is constantly striving to supply water at regular and high pressure. Savane has appealed that the citizens should play a role of cooperation.
