Pune: Action Taken Against Gangster Terrorizing Wanwadi Residents

Pune, 13th November 2022: Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has ordered action under the MPDA against a notorious goon who has been terrorizing the Wanwadi area residents.

Accordingly, the gangster will be detained in Kolhapur jail for a year. The accused has been identified as Ajay Vijay Ukirde (20), a resident of Ramtekdi, Hadapsar.

Ukirde has serious crimes, like possession of weapons, intimidation and forced theft, registered against him. The police had taken preventive action against him. His behaviour did not improve after the intervention.

Therefore, the Wanwadi police station prepared a proposal to take action against Ukirde under the MPDA. Senior Police Inspector Deepak Lagad submitted the proposal to Police Commissioner Gupta. This proposal was approved by the Commissioner of Police.

Ukirde was then placed in jail in Kolhapur for a year.

According to the order of the Commissioner of Police, MPDA action has been taken against 84 gangsters in the city so far.
