Pune Weather Update: Light Rain Likely Over Next Few Days
Pune, 21st June 2026: After enduring intense heat and rising temperatures over the past several days, residents of Pune received much-needed relief on Saturday as the city recorded a noticeable drop in maximum temperatures.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune is likely to experience light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next three to four days, bringing further respite from the prevailing heat.
Over the past week, maximum temperatures across the city and its suburbs had consistently hovered between 37°C and 38°C, leading to uncomfortable weather conditions and increased humidity levels. Citizens had been grappling with scorching afternoons and persistent heat.
However, a change in weather conditions on Saturday resulted in a drop of nearly 2°C in the maximum temperature. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 35°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 23.8°C.
The IMD has forecast a further decline in daytime temperatures over the next two to three days. Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected during this period.
For Sunday, June 21, the weather department has predicted stable temperatures, with the maximum temperature likely to remain at 35°C and the minimum at around 24°C. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear during the day, turning partly cloudy in the afternoon and evening.
From Tuesday onwards, the maximum temperature is expected to decline slightly to around 33°C, while the minimum temperature may settle near 23°C. Although skies are likely to remain mostly clear, partly cloudy conditions are expected during the latter half of the day.
The IMD has also forecast the possibility of light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from Tuesday, offering continued relief from the recent spell of hot weather.
