Pune Winter Alert: Night-Time Temperatures Dip Below 10°C Across the City

Pune, 19th December 2025: After a brief spell of milder nights, Pune is once again experiencing chilly weather, with night-time temperatures falling to single-digit levels. On Friday, December 19, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, bringing cold conditions to several parts of the region.

Data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) showed that at least six other stations in and around Pune also recorded minimum temperatures between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius. Baramati recorded the lowest at 7.4 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Pashan at 7.7 degrees Celsius.

While most areas saw a sharp drop in temperatures, parts of eastern Pune recorded relatively warmer nights. Localities such as Wadgaon Sheri reported minimum temperatures between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, with the highest minimum temperature in the city recorded at 14.9 degrees Celsius.

Weather experts attributed the renewed chill to the continued influence of cold northerly winds. Forecasters said the cold conditions are likely to persist for the next two days, after which night-time temperatures are expected to rise gradually, providing some relief to residents.

Pune has experienced fluctuating winter conditions over the past week, with brief periods of milder weather followed by sudden temperature drops, keeping residents bracing for cold nights once again.
