Pune: Withdrawal Of Five Candidates From Chinchwad Assembly; 28 People Now Going To Contest Election

Chinchwad, 10th February 2023: Along with BJP, Maha Vikas Aghadi, independent candidates have also filed applications to contest the Chinchwad Legislative Assembly by-elections. Only five people have withdrawn their applications on the application withdrawal day on Friday. They include four independents and one Sambhaji Brigade’s Praveen Kadam. So now 28 people are going to contest the election.

On Thursday, the first day of application withdrawal, not a single candidate withdrew their application. Therefore, a picture has been created that the independent candidate is determined to contest the election. The application process for the by-elections started on January 31.

40 candidates had filed 53 applications by February 7 within the prescribed period. After scrutinizing the applications on Wednesday, out of 40 candidates, the applications of seven candidates have been rejected. After that 33 candidates were in the fray. Five people withdrew their applications on the withdrawal day on Friday. So now there are 28 candidates in the assembly field.
