Pune Witnesses Widespread Rainfall; IMD Predicts Continued Showers in Coming Days
Pune, 9th July 2025: Several areas across Pune experienced significant rainfall on Wednesday evening, with Shivajinagar and Chinchwad recording the highest precipitation levels, according to the latest observations released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the weather update generated at 8:55 pm on July 9, Shivajinagar received 18.7 mm of rain, while Chinchwad topped the charts with 22.5 mm. Other areas such as Lohegaon (11.5 mm), NDA (14.0 mm), and Pashan (10.4 mm) also saw moderate rainfall, while Koregaon Park (KP) recorded the least rainfall at just 1.0 mm. The relative humidity across the region remained high, peaking at 100% in multiple areas including Lohegaon, Chinchwad, Magarpatta, and NDA.
The IMD’s forecast for Pune and its surrounding neighborhoods predicts a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain very likely for the remainder of the week. Notably, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in the ghat areas on July 9. From July 10 to July 15, the forecast suggests “very light to light rain” under cloudy conditions across the city and its suburbs.
Temperature Outlook:
Maximum and minimum temperatures on July 9 varied across different regions. Lohegaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 30.7°C, while Lavale had the lowest minimum at 22.0°C. While Shivajinagar recorded temperature ranged between 29.7°C (max) and 22.7°C (min). Over the next few days, temperatures are expected to hover between 30°C to 32°C.

– Nights to be cooler, between 21°C and 24°C
