Hadapsar, 12th February 2024: In Pune, a troubling incident has emerged, highlighting the behavior of law enforcement authorities. The event transpired at the Magarpatta Police Outpost, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Hadapsar Police Station, involving the apprehension of a woman suspected of theft from a homeowner’s residence.
According to the victim, she alleges that she was subjected to physical assault by four policemen, including a sub-inspector, who addressed her derogatorily and denied her request for water, instead instructing her to “drink urine.” Notably, two women police officers were also implicated in the incident.
In response to this disturbing occurrence, the victim, accompanied by her family members and social workers, has sought redress by meeting with the Police Commissioner and Deputy Police Commissioners, urging them to take strict action against the involved officers. However, the Hadapsar police have not yet issued any official statement regarding the matter, suggesting a reluctance to address the issue.
