Pune, 11th December 2025: Three separate cases of domestic harassment and abuse have been registered in the city, with police initiating investigations across Samarth, Sahakarnagar, and Bharati Vidyapeeth police stations.

In the first case, Samarth police have booked six people—including a husband and his family members—for allegedly cheating and harassing a 23-year-old woman after her marriage. According to the complaint, the woman married a 32-year-old man on April 18. Within days, she discovered that her husband was impotent and informed her in-laws.

Instead of addressing the issue, the family allegedly threatened her and warned her of severe consequences if she revealed the matter to others.
Police said the woman also accused her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, the sister-in-law’s husband, and a paternal uncle-in-law of defaming her, accusing her of having an affair, and subjecting her to sustained harassment. The family allegedly demanded money and gold from her parents as well. A case has been registered, and Assistant Police Inspector Magdum is investigating.

In a separate incident, Sahakarnagar police have booked a man for allegedly assaulting and mentally harassing his wife. The couple lived in the Ahilyanagar area. According to the complaint, the husband pressured the woman to transfer her father’s property to his name. When she refused, he reportedly beat her, forcing her to return to her parents’ home. She later approached the police. Constable Khade is probing the case.

Meanwhile, Bharati Vidyapeeth police have registered another case in which a woman has accused her husband and his relatives of mental and physical harassment. A case has been filed based on her complaint, and Police Sub-Inspector Bhosle is leading the investigation.
