According to police, Pooja, also known as Priya Tanaji Kuchekar, (30) and Rishikesh Rajaram Pangare (24) — both residents of Hinjawadi — have been charged in an FIR filed at the Hinjawadi Police Station. Customers were allegedly duped by sending pictures of girls on WhatsApp and calling them from mobile numbers claiming to be Pooja a.k.a. Priya in Wakad, Hinjawadi. The woman allegedly procured girls for prostitution and, with the assistance of her accomplice Rishikesh, dropped the girls off at hotels, lodges, and farmhouses in a car to conduct their illicit business.

When the Pimpri-Chinchwad police received information, it set up a trap at Kasturi Chowk, which is under the jurisdiction of the Hinjawadi Police Station. The police detained the accused after verifying the news with a dummy customer. The four girls who were in the car with the arrested accused were rescued during the operation. One of the rescued girls is from Uttar Pradesh, and three others are from Maharashtra.
