Pune: Woman Cheated of Rs 4 Lakh Through Online Loan Scheme
Pimple Gurav, 2nd May 2022: A woman borrowed money online but ended up getting cheated on. The incident took place between February 6, 2021, and April 30, 2022, at Pimple Gurav.
She was made to pay Rs 3.94 lakh under various pretexts. When she stopped sending money , the accused started threatening her saying that he would send obscene messages to her relatives.
Based on the complaint from the 35-year-old woman, the Sangvi police station under Pimpri Chinchwad police has registered a case against the owners of various phone numbers from which she had been getting calls.
According to the information given by the police, the woman had taken the loan online. The accused defrauded the woman with Rs 3 lakh 94 thousand by asking her to pay the money for a loan, asking her for the NOC certificate along with other reasons.
Sangvi police are investigating the case further. Police have appealed to people to take loans from only RBI approved institutions only.
