Pune: Woman Conspires With Bank Manager To Cheat Her Son And Daughter Of Rs 14.5 Lakh

Pune, 11th June 2022: A woman allegedly stole cheques of her son and daughter and forged bogus signatures on them. Then, conspiring with the bank manager, embezzled up to Rs 14 Lakh 50,000 from the accounts of her son and daughter.

Her 21-year-old son, a resident of Lokmanya Nagar in Pune has lodged a complaint in this regard at Vishrambaug Police Station. Accordingly, an FIR has been registered against the mother of the complainant and bank manager Gaurav Girish Lonkar (31) of Narhe. The incident took place on May 18, 2021, at Bank of Baroda’s Sadashiv Peth Pune Branch.

According to the police, the complainant lives with his mother and sister in Lokmanya Nagar. His mother had forged signatures on two cheques of Rs five lakh and one cheque of Rs 4.5 lakh on his sister’s cheque. Pretending that they were real, the cheques were sanctioned and they withdrew the money.

The brother and sister had first approached the police for a complaint but they did not register the case. Later, they moved to the court which directed the police to register and investigate the case.
