Pune, August 30, 2020: In a shocking incident, a woman and her 27-year-old male colleague were abducted from Senapati Bapat Road on Saturday evening, by a group of men who claimed to be police personnel. After getting information, Pune City Police officials rescued the woman from Satara district border after eight hours, while the accused had abandoned the youth near Katraj ghat.

According to the police, the youth works as a salesman. Around 7.30 pm on Saturday, he was chatting with this woman colleague near the ICC Tower on Senapati Bapat Road. At that time, an Ertiga car suddenly came to halt near them. Six to seven unidentified persons were inside the vehicle who identified themselves as policemen. They asked the youth and the woman that they have to accompany them to the police station, and forcibly pushed them into the vehicle. However, they were then taken to Chandni Chowk via Pashan Road, and from there were taken to Katraj ghat via Pune-Bengaluru Highway. The accused persons thrashed the youth and pushed him out of the vehicle, and they took the woman towards Satara.

At that time, it was learned that the vehicle was passing through Shirwal toll naka (in Satara district) where they were caught after we informed the team there around 10.30 pm. Later, Chatushrungi police team was sent there which took custody of the accused persons, and the woman was released around 3.30 am,” DCP Deshmukh said.
