Pune: Woman Jumps to Death With Son From Building Terrace; Suicide Note Found

Katraj, 18th June 2025: A 31-year-old woman allegedly jumped to her death from the terrace of a residential building along with her six-year-old son in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune, on Wednesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Mayuri Shashikant Deshmukh (31) and her son Vishnu Shashikant Deshmukh, residents of Kalpak Srushti Society, Dalvi Nagar, Ambegaon Budruk. The incident took place around 6:00 pm, when the woman reportedly jumped from the terrace of the building with her child.

During the preliminary investigation, police officials found a suicide note on the terrace in a notebook. The note read, “I am taking this step because I am tired of sister-in-law’s harassment.”

Police are currently investigating the case and have initiated further legal action based on the contents of the suicide note. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and statements from family members and residents are being recorded to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the tragedy.
