Pune Zilla Parishad Launches ‘Toilet Seva’ App to Ensure Clean Sanitation Facilities for Ashadhi Wari 2025 Pilgrims

Pune, 18th June 2025: In a major step toward providing safe and clean sanitation facilities for lakhs of devotees participating in the Ashadhi Wari 2025 pilgrimage, the Pune Zilla Parishad has launched a dedicated mobile application named ‘Toilet Seva’.
The initiative, conceptualized by Gajanan Patil, Chief Executive Officer of the Pune Zilla Parishad, is being hailed as a significant step towards promoting hygiene along the Wari pilgrimage routes.
A total of 3,300 mobile toilets have been set up across the three main Wari routes:
1,800 toilets on the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi route,
1,200 toilets on the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi route, and
300 toilets on the Sant Sopankumar Maharaj Palkhi route.
To streamline management, the ‘Toilet Seva’ app offers real-time information on:
Location and status of toilets,
Cleanliness levels and maintenance frequency,
Availability of water, electricity, and access roads,
Usage data for each toilet,
Feedback and suggestions directly from users.
Each toilet is equipped with a QR code, which can be scanned using Google Scanner to instantly access details about that facility on a user’s mobile phone.
The mobile app is available for free download on both Android and Apple devices:
Android: Toilet Seva – Google Play Store
iOS (Apple): Toilet Seva – App Store
The Zilla Parishad has appealed to all pilgrims to download and use the app to stay informed and submit feedback regarding hygiene and facilities during the Wari.
Officials stated that this digital initiative marks a smart and citizen-centric use of technology in service of the revered Wari tradition.
