Pune: Woman Murdered in Ravet After Rejecting Affair Proposal, Accused Arrested
Ravet, 14th December 2023: An incident unfolded at the Felicity By Pharande Spaces Society in Ravet, Pimpri Chinchwad Police, where a woman was brutally murdered for refusing an affair proposal from a plumber.
The victim, identified as Pratima Pramod Yadav (32), worked as a housekeeper in the society. The assailant, Arif Zulfiqar Malik (21), resident of Moshi, has been arrested by the police.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning at the society’s clubhouse.
According to Senior Police Inspector Amarnath Waghmode, Arif, who was involved in plumbing work in the society, allegedly demanded Pratima’s mobile number and proposed a romantic relationship. Pratima vehemently rejected his advances, stating that she would report the matter to her husband and the police.
Enraged by her refusal, Arif reportedly attacked Pratima, strangling her, and inflicting severe injuries. The assault resulted in Pratima’s tragic demise. The incident came to light around 6:30 pm on the same day.
Upon receiving the information, Ravet police arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation, and detained Arif. Subsequent interrogation led to his confession, and the police formally arrested him.
Police are further investigating the case.
