Pune: Worker Falls to Death at Arise International School in Ravet, FIR registered against Contractor and Supervisor

Ravet, 14th December 2023: In an incident that transpired on November 22 at Arise International School in Ravet, a worker lost his life after falling into a fire duct while cleaning the fourth floor. Despite the passage of time since the incident, the deceased individual remained unidentified until recently.

Ravet Police have initiated legal proceedings against the contractor, Chand Pasha Abdul Khayyum Sheikh (51 years old, Ravet), and the supervisor, Rafiq Noorkhan Pathan (32 years old, Punawale). The victim, identified as Deepak (full name unknown), met a tragic end during the cleaning task.

Police Sub-Inspector Prachi Todkar has filed the complaint against both the contractor and supervisor for their alleged negligence in failing to implement adequate safety measures during the cleaning operation. The absence of a fire duct flexible sheet has been cited as a safety concern, leading to the fatal incident.

Ravet police are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
