Pune: Woman Raped With Lure Of Marriage, Accused Extorts Rs Five Lakh From Her
Pune, 29th January 2023: An incident of rape of a young woman on the pretext of medical treatment has come to light. A case has been registered against the accused lawyer (37), a resident of Kothrud. The young woman has filed a complaint at the Alankar police station.
According to the FIR, he had allegedly lured the young woman into marriage. On the lure of marriage, he raped her in a flat in the Kothrud area. After that, he told her that he urgently needed money for his mother’s treatment. He extorted Rs five lakh from the woman. When she demanded the money back from him, he abused and threatened her. After realizing the fraud, the girl lodged a complaint with the police.
UPDATE: The Bombay High Court has quashed the FIR in the case.
