Pune: Woman Succumbs To Injuries In Talwade Candle Factory Explosion, Death Toll Rises To 12

Pimpri Chinchwad, 16th December 2023: The death toll in the Talwade candle factory explosion has increased to twelve, with the recent passing of Suman Godde (40). Suman, who sustained injuries in the incident, breathed her last at 2 am on Saturday during treatment at Sassoon Hospital.

The incident occurred on December 8 when a fire broke out at a candle company in Talwade, claiming the lives of six women on the spot and leaving ten others injured. The injured were transferred to Sassoon Hospital in Pune for critical medical care. The toll continued to rise with Pratiksha Torane (16) and Kavita Rathod (45) succumbing to their injuries on December 9. Shilpa Rathod (31) followed suit on December 10 during treatment. Priyanka Yadav (32) and Eksha Torane (18) passed away on December 14.

Meanwhile, the injured patients, namely Usha Padvi, Komal Chaure, Renuka Tathod, and Sharad Sutar, are currently undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital, battling to recover from the aftermath of the devastating explosion.
