Pune: Woman Worker Dies After Falling From 16th Floor
Sinhagad Road, 21st July 2022: A shocking incident took place where a woman worker died after falling into the duct from the 16th floor of an under-construction multi-storied building. The incident took place at an ongoing construction site at Jaidevnagar on Sinhagad Road.
The deceased worker has been identified as Meenakumari Sahu (41). A case has been registered against Pawar Shankar Bhai Reddy, the contractor of the construction site at Dattawadi Police Station. The incident happened on July 13.
According to the information given by the police, Reddy had brought Meenakumari from Chhattisgarh to work at the construction site.
Meanwhile, the installation of the tile floor was going on the 16th floor. Meenakumari was working there. This time the contractor did not provide any safety gear. While working, Meenakumar fell into the duct from the 16th floor. She died due to severe injuries.
In this case, there was a report of accidental death at the Dattawadi police station. After investigation, the police registered a case against the contractor. Further investigation is being done by the Dattawadi police.
