Pune: Yerwada Police Arrest Thieves For Stealing Networking Equipment Worth Rs 70 Lakh From IT Company

Yerwada, February 18, 2021: The officials from Yerwada police station, Pune city police, have arrested two persons for theft of networking equipment worth Rs 70 lakh from the office of an IT company in Kalyaninagar.

Makrand Madhukar Belulkar, a network engineer working with the company, had lodged a complaint on February 15. He had stated that  WiFi access points and access switches worth Rs 70 lakh were stolen from his company.

While investigating the case, police detained Ganesh Dhondiram Dolare (31), a resident of Narhe, Pune. He confessed to stealing the company’s WiFi access point and access switch and told police that he had sold it to Kuldeep Chauhan (33), a resident of Bandra, Mumbai.

Senior Police Inspector Yunus Sheikh, in-charge of Yerwada police station, formed a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Karpe who went to Mumbai and recovered stolen materials worth Rs 52.5 lakh. Police have arrested Dolare and Chauhan in the case and further investigation is going on.

The action was under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Namdev Chavan, DCP (Zone 4) Pakanj Deshmukh, ACP (Yerwada division) Kishore Jadhav and Senior Inspector Yunus Sheikh.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Ajay Waghmare, API Sameer Karpe and police personnel Ganpat Thikole, Datta Shinde, Tushar Kharade, Amjad Sheikh, Navnath Mohite, Manoj Kudle, Kiran Ghute, Ganesh Wagh, Anil Shinde, Sunil Naglot, Sunil Sakat, Rahul Pardeshi, Ajay Padole, Sameer Bhorde, Sanjay Bhargude.
