Pune: Young Man Dies En Route to Sinhagad on Shiv Jayanti; Multiple Accidents Injure Several in Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri Chinchwad, 20th February 2025: Three separate road accidents under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) have left one person dead and several others injured in Wakad, Alandi, and Sangvi.
In Wakad, a 20-year-old youth, Rohan Navnath Dangane from Thergaon, lost his life while attempting to overtake a tempo near the Wakad-Hinjawadi bridge. Dangane, who was on his way to Sinhagad Fort with friends for Shiv Jayanti celebrations, got trapped under the tempo’s rear wheel. The Wakad Police have registered a case against the tempo driver, Imran Patel (36) from Loni Kalbhor, and cleaner Arfat Sheikh from Kunjirwadi.
At Markal Chowk in Alandi, Kalubai Digambar Bhosale (55) sustained serious injuries after being hit by a truck while walking on Padmavati Road. The truck driver, Somnath Ashok Wanve (25) from Beed, has been booked following a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Jitu Baban Pawar (42).
In Sangvi, a collision between an autorickshaw and a two-wheeler on the Aundh-Ravet BRTS Road left three people injured. Rakesh Sadashiv Bhagwat (36) from Pimpri, his sister Reshma, and his son Advay sustained injuries in the accident. The autorickshaw driver, Raju Manohar Waghmare from Thergaon, fled the scene but was later charged based on a complaint filed by Rakesh Bhagwat at Sangvi Police Station.
