Pune: Young Man Killed in Pimple Saudagar Hit-and-Run Accident
Pimple Saudagar, 19th April 2024: An incident of a hit-and-run in broad daylight occurred in Pimple Saudagar, Pimpri Chinchwad, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old youth. The incident took place at PK Chowk in Pimple Saudagar around 10:30 am on April 12th.
The deceased has been identified as Md Faizan, aged 23 and a resident of SB Road. His friend, Fukran Khan Mohommed Akram, aged 25 and a resident of Gokhale Nagar, reported it to the Sangvi Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad police.
According to the police, Faizan was attempting to cross the road at PK Chowk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by an unknown person. The driver was allegedly operating the vehicle recklessly and without following traffic rules, causing the collision. Faizan sustained head injuries from the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case against the unknown driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, including sections 304(A) and 289 of the IPC.
The investigation into the matter is being led by Sub-Inspector of Police Mahadev S. Bhalerao. Further action will be taken as the investigation progresses.
