Pune: Youth Cheated Of Rs 4.67 Lakh In Job Scam

Pune, 28th June 2021: A highly educated youth was robbed of Rs 4.67 lakh by a cybercriminal who lured the youth under the pretext of providing him with a well-paid job abroad.
Ujwal Kakade (30), a resident of Manik Baug on Sinhagad Road has lodged a complaint at Sinhagad Road police station in this regard.
The complainant had completed his Masters in Science degree from the United Kingdom (UK) and returned to India two years ago. He had uploaded all his educational information online as he was looking for a job. He received an email on February 24 and was offered a job as a storekeeper manager with a good salary at a reputed company in the UK. The victim responded to the email and sent all his information.
After that, when he needed a visa for a job, he was asked to pay money. The cybercriminal sent his bank account number and asked the complainant to send the money. The victim fell prey to that and transferred the money. Later, the accused started demanding money from him for various reasons. Altogether, the accused robbed him of Rs 4.67 lakh.
When the victim realized that he was cheated and there was no job, he went to the cyber police station and lodged a complaint. After inquiring into the complaint, the case has been sent to Sinhagad Road police. Police Inspector Pramod Waghmare is investigating the matter further.
