Pune: Youth Drowns in Indrayani River Near Talegaon Dabhade

Shelarwadi, 2nd April 2025: A 20-year-old man drowned in the Indrayani River near Kundmala, Talegaon Dabhade this evening. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM when Aman Ansari, a resident of Pimpri Chinchwad’s Kudalwadi area, went swimming with four friends.

According to Senior Police Inspector Ranjit Jadhav from Talegaon MIDC Police Station, Aman slipped while attempting to cross the river and fell. Two of his friends jumped in to save him but were unable to swim themselves. Local residents managed to rescue the two friends and immediately called for assistance.

Rescue teams, including members of the Vanyajiv Rakshak Maval organization and Shivdurga Mitra Lonavala, arrived at the scene. After a 30-minute search operation, Aman’s body was recovered from the pool.

This is not the first such incident at Kundmala. A similar tragedy occurred over a year ago when another individual drowned in the same area. The repeated incidents have raised concerns about safety measures around the river. Authorities are urging caution for those visiting the site to prevent further accidents.
