Pune : Youth Electrocuted To Death While Digging In Punawale
Pune 20th July 2023: In a shocking incident reported on Monday evening , a labourer lost his life due to electrocution while digging without realizing the presence of an underground power line in Koyate Vasti area at Punawale.
The deceased identified as Gopal Balappa Ayyali (21) was a resident of Chinchwad. Ravi Kotarappa Bajalwar, a resident of Chichwad who is also maternal uncle of the deceased has lodged a complaint at the local police station in the matter. Siddhesh Mahadev Tandel and one more person identified as Waghere have been booked in the case.
According to police, it is reported that the deceased was undertaking digging work in the Koyate Vasti, Punavale area on Monday when the accident occurred. The permission was not obtained from the MSEDCL for the job and hence the deceased was not aware of the underground power line. Due to this negligence, Gopal accidentally came in contact with the live wire while digging, leading to his death, as mentioned in the complaint.
