Pune, 16th June 2021: The pandemic has disrupted offline education. The fees of schools and colleges include various charges apart from tuition fees. Due to the decrease in incomes of all sorts, many parents are now finding it difficult to pay the whole fees of their children.

The colleges are conducting online lectures and even so, they are charging maintenance charges, lab fee, gym, uniform fee, study material charges, internet charges along with other charges from students when not a single student has been able to go to the college and use these facilities.

Yuvak Kranti Dal (Yukrand) said that colleges are pushing for students to pay fees. Threats are being made that if the fee is not paid, the form will not be inwarded or the internal exam will not be allowed. Despite the circular regarding the inward form of the university, the colleges are unnecessarily harassing the students in this regard. Many students have been embarrassed to drop out of school due to non-payment of fees.

They also added that students cannot bear the burden of fees during such financial difficulties. Yukrand has received more than 5,000 complaints through student Google forms demanding a reduction in college fees during the Corona period, Yukrand’s office-bearers said during a press conference today at Patrakar Bhavan.

Yukrand also appealed to the Chief Minister and the Minister of Education to pay attention to this issue.

Sandeep Barve (State Administrator) of Yukrand, Jambuwant Manohar (State Organizer), Sachin Pandule (Pune City President), Student Representative Zubair Chakoli, Prakash Gade, were present during the press conference.
