Pune: Zomato Delivery Boy Assaults ‘Customer’ For Cancelling Order

Baner, February 24, 2021: A delivery boy allegedly beat up a hotel owner out of anger over the cancellation of the order. A case was registered against the two accused at the Chatushrungi police station. The incident took place in the Baner area at 8.30 pm on February 20.

Vishal Vijay Agarwal (40) of Baner road has filed the complaint against Rameshwar Waghaji Tadse (35) and his accomplice.

According to police, the complainant received an order from the Zomato app. According to him, the accused had not turned up. Hence, the complainant had called the Zomato helpline and said that the delivery boy did not come.

So another delivery boy was sent to collect the order. Meanwhile, the first delivery boy also arrived to get the order. At that time, he beat the complainant, saying why did he cancel the order. He also damaged the music plant of the door of the complainant’s hotel. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
