Pune’s 44th Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Exhibition Announced by PMC

Pune, 21st January 2026: To celebrate its foundation day, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), through its Garden Department and Tree Authority, has announced the 44th Annual Fruit, Flower, and Vegetable Exhibition. The event is scheduled to take place on February 14 and 15, 2026, at the Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Garden on Jangali Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar.

Inauguration and Schedule

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The event will remain open to the public from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM on both days.

Objectives and Highlights

According to the press note issued by Dr. Ashok Ghorpade, Garden Superintendent and Member Secretary of the Tree Authority, the primary objective of the exhibition is to create public awareness regarding the vital role of trees and plants in human life.

The exhibition will feature 12 sections and 38 sub-sections, showcasing a wide variety of horticulture. Key attractions include:
Floral Displays: A vast collection of Roses, Dahlias, Orchids, Anthuriums, Gerberas, and Carnations.

Arrangements: Decorative potted plants, medicinal plant collections, seasonal flower arrangements, table decorations, and diverse floral garlands and bouquets.

Special Sections: A dedicated section for women’s self-help groups featuring salad decorations and processed fruit/vegetable products.

Art & Design: Replicas of various garden types, wood carving (Kashta Shilpa), paper art, and “Features Gardens.”

Participation and Competitions

Several prominent organizations will participate alongside PMC departments (Environment, Solid Waste Management, and Rajiv Gandhi Zoo). These include the National Defence Academy (NDA), College of Military Engineering (CME), Forest Department, Friends of Bonsai, and Tilak Ayurved College.

A prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the various gardening and tree conservation competitions held earlier will be conducted on February 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the venue.

Citizen Engagement

The exhibition will also promote environmental themes such as “Majhi Vasundhara” (My Earth), tree plantation, and the use of bicycles. A special photography gallery will be set up for visitors.

For gardening enthusiasts, there will be stalls selling flowers, fruit saplings, gardening tools, seeds, and fertilizers.

Entry Details

The PMC has declared that entry to the exhibition is free of cost for all citizens. The administration has appealed to the people of Pune to visit in large numbers and take advantage of this opportunity to witness the floral showcase and purchase gardening supplies.
