Pune’s Arhant Joshi Claims First-Ever Medal in Free Jump at Asian Championship

Pune, 25th October 2023: Arhant Joshi, a dedicated athlete hailing from Pune, has clinched a historic bronze medal in the free jump event at the Asian Championship held in Beidahe, China, showcasing India’s prowess in the niche discipline of inline freestyle skating. This achievement marks the first-ever medal in this category of Roller Skating for the country.

With an athletic journey spanning over 11 years and participation in various international competitions, Arhant’s triumphant moment unfolded at his second Asian Championship. Under the guidance of his coach, Ashutosh Jagtap, Arhant’s rigorous training regimen and commitment to the sport have finally paid off with this groundbreaking victory.

Notably, Arhant’s success isn’t limited to the Asian Championship alone. Earlier this year, he added a silver medal to his collection in the Speed Slalom event at the ASEAN Championship held in Singapore. Additionally, he was honored with the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati award for Roller Skating in the 2019-2020 category, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the field.
