Pune’s Dam Stock Reaches 52 Percent Amidst Heavy Rains

Pune, 23rd July 2023: Pune’s water reservoirs, including Varasgaon, Panshet, Temghar, and Khadakwasla dams, have been significantly replenished by heavy rainfall in the past week. As a result, the water stock in the Khadakwasla dam chain currently stands at 52 percent ie 15.16 TMC.

 

The region has witnessed abundant rainfall in many areas, including Pune City and its surroundings. Comparing this year’s data with the same date last year, the combined water storage in the four dams was recorded at 69.19 percent and 20.17 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic Feet). This year, the water storage has reached 52 percent and 15.16 TMC, signifying a significant increase.

 

The water storage in dams are as follows:

Khadakwasla: 1.27 TMC, 64.10 percent

Panshet: 5.93 TMC, 55.66 percent

Varasgaon: 6.66 TMC, 51.49 percent

Temghar: 1.31 TMC, 35.32 percent
