Pune’s New Founder Community, Inner Circle, Brings Startups Face-to-Face with Industry Veterans
Pune, 30th July 2026: At a time when founders have unlimited access to podcasts, webinars and AI-generated startup advice, Inner Circle, an initiative by Anugrah Franklin Studios, is taking a different approach by creating a carefully curated community, where entrepreneurs can engage in honest conversations with experienced industry leaders and fellow founders.
The inaugural edition of Inner Circle was held at the Raah Foundation in Pune on the 25th of July.
It brought together a select group of early-stage founders, entrepreneurs, investors and mentors for an evening of candid discussions on branding, investor communication and building businesses that stand the test of time.
The keynote mentoring session was led by Mr Rajan Nair, one of India’s most respected advertising professionals and winner of over 150 national and international awards. Rather than delivering a conventional lecture, Nair challenged founders to examine their businesses through the lens of the five questions every investor is really asking:
Why now? Why you? Why this market? Why this pricing? Why this ask?
Throughout the interactive session, founders were encouraged to move beyond impressive market statistics and polished presentations.
Instead, they were asked to identify what had fundamentally changed in the market to make their business relevant today; explain why they were uniquely positioned to solve the problem; define their first paying customers before talking about billion-dollar opportunities; justify pricing through business fundamentals rather than competitors, and ensure every funding request was tied to a measurable milestone.
The discussions were designed as conversations rather than lectures, allowing founders to challenge one another’s ideas, defend their assumptions and refine their thinking in real time.
Reflecting on the inaugural session, Mr Rajan Nair said,
“This was the first session of Inner Circle, and although it was a small forum, it was sharply focused. There were a few youngsters enthusiastic about starting their own ventures, a couple of successful entrepreneurs, and a couple of potential investors. My role was to share my experience in brand-building and communication—not only with consumers, but with potential investors as well. The questions were interesting, based on real-life challenges, and the discussions led to innovative solutions. I believe this forum will provide a strong platform and launchpad for passionate entrepreneurs in the days ahead.”
Speaking to Punekar News, Mr Rishiraj Singhania, Principal at Inner Circle, said,
“Our objective is simple: help startups become better businesses. Every session is designed to give founders direct access to experienced professionals whose insights can meaningfully improve the decisions they make while building their ventures.”
Mr Anugrah Franklin, Founder of Anugrah Franklin Studios, added,
“Today’s founders don’t suffer from a lack of information: they suffer from a lack of meaningful conversations. Anyone can generate a business plan using AI, but building a successful company requires clarity, honest feedback and practical experience. Inner Circle was created to bridge that gap by bringing founders into the same room as people who’ve built brands, solved business problems and navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship. Our goal is simple: every founder should leave with better questions, clearer thinking and actionable direction.”
The event was also attended by Ms Aiman Mehta, media personality, philanthropist and Founder of the Raah Foundation, along with other patrons who interacted with the participating founders and encouraged Pune’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
For many attendees, the value of the evening lay in discussing real business challenges instead of listening to generic startup advice.
Mr Abdullah, Founder of The Husk Company, said,
“Thank you for organising such a wonderful Inner Circle session at Raah Foundation. It was inspiring to be in a room full of passionate early-stage founders openly discussing branding, advertising, and the real struggles of building a business. I came away with several valuable insights that I’ll definitely apply to my own venture. And on a lighter note, it was surreal to meet the person behind the iconic line finally, ‘Sunday ho ya Monday, roz khao ande!’ Truly a memorable evening.”
Ms Manali Shah, Founder of 5 Minute Action, echoed the sentiment.
“I attended the recent Inner Circle session, and it was an excellent experience. As startup founders, we sometimes get lost in our own thoughts and assumptions. Interacting with experienced experts at Inner Circle helped us better understand the customer’s perspective and challenged the way we think about our business. It was a truly valuable experience, and I hope you continue organising more such sessions.”
“It was an afternoon well spent understanding the mindset of investors and clients from people who have spent a lifetime closing deals.”

Unlike traditional networking events, Inner Circle uses a curated format in which participation is intentionally limited to ensure meaningful discussions and high-quality interactions. Every session is designed to encourage founders to learn from industry veterans, receive constructive feedback, exchange ideas with fellow entrepreneurs and build lasting professional relationships.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Inner Circle plans to host a series of focused sessions featuring experts from communication, branding, marketing, finance, legal, fundraising, product development and other critical aspects of entrepreneurship.
Founders interested in joining future editions can apply by filling out the Google Form shared by the organisers or by connecting via WhatsApp on 8691900010. Applications are reviewed through a vetting process to ensure every session remains relevant, interactive and valuable for all participants.
