Wakad, 13th September 2021: Vedanta CHS is one of the housing societies in Wakad housing approx. 2200 residents. Ganeshotsav marks the commencement of the festive season. The cherry on the cake is the fact that this year Vedanta is celebrating its 5th year of Ganeshotsav. This makes it extra special.

Dr Somnath Dhonde, Chairman of Vedanta CHS, informed that the housing society has a Ganesha mandir within the premises. Hence, effort towards making mandap and collection of donations is not needed. Funds from the donation box of the mandir were leveraged for the decoration of the temple. The management committee in the spirit of ensuring sustainability while celebrating the festival has installed an ecofriendly Ganesha idol. Additionally, 21 trees were planted within the society premises.

While the celebrations have started, society and its members are also conscious of the fact that the risk of Corona still looms at large. All COVID appropriate safety protocols were followed while welcoming Bappa to society. Bappa was given a grand welcome into the premises of the society. The installation and maha aarti was broadcasted online so that the residents do not miss out on getting the darshan of their beloved Ganesha. Residents who had taken both doses of vaccine were allowed (30 numbers only) to attend the event in person.

The society would be conducting various online games and events to ensure that the spirits of festivities continue to be high. Some of the planned events organised include Online fancy dress, singing and dancing competition, quiz shows, online debate competition and kids especially for kids etc. The management committee would be leveraging popular platforms like Zoom, WhatsApp etc. to host these events.
