Punit Balan Recognized for Exemplary Service by Central Command of Indian Army
Pune, 17th January 2024: Punit Balan, the Chairman of ‘Punit Balan Group’ based in Pune and a dynamic entrepreneur actively engaged in various initiatives with the Indian Army, has received a commendation from the Central Command of the Indian Army. The citation acknowledges Balan’s outstanding contributions and expresses hope for his continued efforts as a guiding force for others.
On the auspicious occasion of the 76th Army Day, Punit Balan was honored with this citation by Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani (GOC in-C Central Command) of Central Command. Earlier, Balan was also felicitated by Joint Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. BS Raju for carrying out various activities with the Indian Army in the Kashmir Valley.
Balan has consistently taken a proactive role in various social initiatives in collaboration with the Indian Army, particularly in the challenging terrain of the Kashmir Valley. His efforts include overseeing ten schools in sensitive areas of Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pahalgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Uri, Tregam, Ven, and Gurez, aimed at providing education to students in the region. Additionally, he oversees the Dagger School, catering to special children in Baramulla, and is actively involved in fostering sports to empower youth affected by terrorism in Kashmir.
Expressing his gratitude and pride, Punit Balan stated, “Every one of us holds deep respect, love, and pride for the Indian Army, which tirelessly serves the country. It is a matter of great joy and pride for me to be honored by the Central Command of the Army. I consider it my fortune to contribute to the Army’s service.
