Purandar Airport: Drone Survey to Begin on April 9 for Land Acquisition
Pune, 28th March 2025: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has been directed to expedite the land acquisition process for the Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje International Airport at Purandar to ensure swift commencement of work. MIDC Chief Executive Officer P. Velrasu issued the directive during a review meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Pune.
During the meeting, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar emphasized the need for accurate and transparent land acquisition planning. He instructed officials to update land records, conduct crop inspections, and ensure that surveys reflect actual measurements.
Key Directives from the Meeting
The government has sanctioned the acquisition of 2,832 hectares for the airport under the Maharashtra Industrial Development Act, 1961.
₹4.80 crore has been allocated for land measurement.
A drone survey will begin on April 9, with villagers given a preview before measurements commence.
7/12 land records of the identified villages must be updated as per actual measurements.
Notices will be sent to villagers after the District Collector’s meetings, seeking their cooperation in the land acquisition process.
Villages Identified for Acquisition
The joint census of the following seven villages—Vanpuri, Kumbharvalan, Udachiwadi, Ekhatpur, Munjawadi, Khanwadi, and Pargaon—will be completed by MIDC, the Land Records Department, and the Police Department.

MIDC has assured full cooperation in resolving challenges related to land acquisition. District Collector Jitendra Dudi stressed the importance of ensuring villagers are informed and engaged throughout the process.
With these directives in place, authorities aim to fast-track the land acquisition and initiate construction of Pune’s long-awaited international airport at the earliest.
