Railway: Pune Division Reports Rs. 2158.95 Crore Revenue, 19.9% Growth in FY 2024-25

Pune, 02 April 2025: The Pune Division of Indian Railways has recorded a significant increase in revenue for the financial year 2024-25, achieving a gross revenue of Rs. 2158.95 crore, a 19.9% rise over the previous financial year. This revenue also surpasses the division’s target of Rs. 2147.69 crore by 0.4%.
According to Dr. Milind Hirve, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Senior DCM) of Pune Division, the achievement was made possible due to the joint efforts of all departments and staff.
Revenue Breakdown:
- Passenger Revenue: Rs. 1466.82 crore, a 20.9% increase over the last year and 0.4% above the target of Rs. 1460.71 crore.
- Goods Revenue: Rs. 540.47 crore, rising by 20.7% compared to the last financial year, exceeding the target of Rs. 506.80 crore by 6.6%.
- Other Coaching Revenue: Rs. 129.05 crore, reflecting an 8.4% increase, though falling 19.2% short of the target of Rs. 159.70 crore.
- Sundry Revenue: Rs. 22.61 crore, growing by 9.9% over the previous year and exceeding the target of Rs. 20.48 crore by 10.4%.
- Parcel Revenue: Rs. 36.24 crore, marking a 22.4% growth, but 15.5% below the target of Rs. 42.88 crore.
- Commercial Publicity Revenue: Rs. 14.19 crore, increasing by 8.3% over the last financial year and 0.7% above the target of Rs. 14.10 crore.
- Pay & Park Revenue: Rs. 3.0 crore, a 9.5% rise, but 8.5% lower than the target of Rs. 3.28 crore.
- Catering Contract Revenue: Rs. 3.14 crore, growing by 25.3%, exceeding the target of Rs. 3.10 crore by 1.2%.
Passenger Traffic Growth:
The Pune Division also recorded an originating passenger traffic of 65.72 million, which represents a 17.6% increase over the previous financial year and surpasses the target of 62.54 million by 5.1%.
Dr. Milind Hirve emphasized that these revenue and traffic figures highlight the Pune Division’s commitment to efficiency and service enhancement. The division continues to focus on improving passenger experience, freight operations, and overall commercial performance to sustain this growth trajectory.
