Gas Agency Owner Arrested For Spying For Pakistan's ISI, Accused Provided Gas Connections In Army Area

Pune/Jaipur, 16th September 2021: In a joint operation, the Military Intelligence (MI) of Army’s Southern Command based in Pune and Rajasthan State Intelligence have nabbed a gas agency owner in Jhunjhunu on charges of spying for Pakistan. The accused used to provide gas connections in the Army area.

 

An FIR has been registered against the accused Sandeep Kumar (30) from Narhar, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. He has been charged for offences under the relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act.

 

According to DG (Intelligence) Umesh Mishra, the accused was in contact with a Pakistan based ISI officer over WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp audio and video calls. He had shared photos and details of the army area.

 

Sandeep is the owner of Indane Gas Agency and resides right across the road of the Narhar Army camp area. He was providing gas connections in the  Army area, Mishra said.

According to officials, the accused had been providing information about the Indian Army since July for money from a Pakistani handler.

The accused was detained on September 12. He was interrogated by various agencies at the joint interrogation centre in Jaipur and then arrested. Many incriminating details have been recovered from his phone after technical analysis.

 

Few days, MI and Rajasthan Intelligence had arrested a railway postal service employee on charges of spying for Pakistan.
