Ranbir Kapoor-Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Shamshera’ To Release On OTT, Director Karan Malhotra Replied
Mumbai, 19th January 2022: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, will soon be seen in Yash Raj banner’s ‘Shamshera’. The film was scheduled to release in theaters on March 18 this year, although now there is speculation that because of the increasing cases of coronavirus, the filmmakers have planned to release ‘Shamshera’ on the digital platform.
Director Karan Malhotra praised Aditya Chopra and said, “all these things are completely in the hands of the producer (Aditya Chopra). He is by far the most active producer in my life. He knows better about this and I have completely left it to him. He is an expert and I am just enjoying my creative space as far as Shamshera is concerned.”
He further says “I have made the film with full sincerity and full effort and tried to give good shape to the film by using all of them well. Now everything depends on them etc. How he wants to keep it, what is his plan, everything is in his hands. I have given my best as a director and now I have the best of Bollywood producers who are taking it further.”
Apart from this, Karan also expressed his enthusiasm for Shamshera and wants it to be released soon. He further said “to be honest, it is too early to say anything about Shamshera, because at present we are in a situation which has made the whole environment negative. We have not yet entered the PR zone of the film, but we will definitely talk about it when the right time comes.”
It was claimed about ‘Shamshera’ that the film post-theatrical digital rights have been bought by Amazon Prime Video. That is, after its release in theaters, the film will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The satellite rights have been sold to Star Network. Theatrical and music rights of the film are with Yash Raj Films.
‘Shamshera’ is a big-budget period-action film. Ranbir Kapoor is playing a double role for the first time in his career. In this, he will play the role of a robber and his son. The story of the film is from the 19th century. Apart from Ranbir, Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor are also in lead roles in this film, directed by Karan Malhotra.
