New Delhi, 10 April 2023: According to data from the Union Health Ministry issued today (April 10), a total of 5,880 new COVID-19 cases were reported in India in the past 24 hours, a little increase from Sunday’s count of 5,357.

The Indian Medical Association has provided a list of potential causes for the rise in infections.

The Indian Medical Association stated that the reasons behind the recent COVID surge in our country may be the relaxation of COVID-19 appropriate behavior, a low testing rate, and the emergence of a new variant of COVID-19.

As of today, there were 35,199 active cases altogether, with a daily positive rate of 6.91%, according to the Union Health Ministry.

3,481 recoveries occurred in the nation on the previous day, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,41,96,318.

3.67% of the week were positive, according to the data.

The Nationwide Vaccination Drive has so far administered 220.66 crore total vaccine doses (95.21 crores second dose and 22.87 crore precaution dose).

There have been 205 dosages given out in the previous 24 hours.

85,076 tests were administered the previous day, bringing the total number of tests to 92.28 crores.
