Rename Pune As Jijaunagar – Congress demands in cabinet meeting!

Mumbai/Pune, 29th June 2022: Maharashtra state government today approved the name change of Aurangabad city to Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad city as Dharashiv.
In the same cabinet meeting, Congress asked to change the name of Pune city to Jijaunagar in honour of Rajmata Jijau, the mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. However, the decision was not taken about the renaming of Pune city.
Earlier, the Sambhiji Brigade had demanded that the city of Pune should be renamed Jijapur.
