Road Rage In Pune: Autorickshaw Driver Hits Car Owner With Beer Bottle

Wanwadi, 16th July 2022: In a shocking incident, an auto-rickshaw driver hit a man with a beer bottle. This left the man with 13 stitches making him unable to eat anything but liquid. This incident took place on July 11 in Wanwadi.

The 30-year-old man was returning home in a car with his family. His vehicle was rammed by a rickshaw that was attempting to overtake him from the wrong side. The auto driver hit the victim with a beer bottle on the face when he demanded the rickshaw driver for compensation since his car’s headlight and mudflap were broken.

According to the FIR, the rickshaw driver was carrying eight people and did not admit his mistake. He caused a traffic jam on the road by raising a fuss and refusing to go to the police station. Later, he lost control and severely injured the car owner.

The accused fled the scene as rickshaw passengers raised objections to him. The injured was quickly taken to the hospital by his family.

The car owner said, “He attacked me with a beer bottle when I took the auto driver’s phone and told him to come with me to the police station.”

A case has been filed against the rickshaw driver under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 324 (mischief), 504 (whoever intentionally insults and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace), 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 504 (whoever misbehaves in a public place).

Police are searching for the alleged driver and conducting an investigation.
