Rotary Club of Pune Magarpatta City To Provide Above Knee Artificial Leg To Over 90 Beneficiaries

Hadapsar, 29th June 2021: Rotary is an organisation that needs no introduction, world over, Rotary International has helped humanity in many ways and made a difference.

Closer home, in our own city, Rotary Club of Pune Magarpatta City – RCPMC had its customary installation ceremony for the new Rotary year at Hotel Cocoon with all covid protocols and safety measures. Rtn. Ravi Mishra took charge as President of the club from Rtn. Dr Kuldip Charak in the presence of District Governor Elect Rtn. Pankaj Shah, AGC Yezdi, District Director Shital Shah and other dignitaries.

RCPMC has carried out significant and socially impactful projects, especially in the medical and social fields. They recently took up a global grants project where they provided artificial legs, specifically aimed to support ‘above the knee amputees’ and brought smiles to the faces and families of over 50 beneficiaries already adding to over 250 beneficiaries of ‘’below the knee prosthetics’’ which they have carried out in the last few years.
This year the aim is to provide above knee artificial leg to another 90 beneficiaries. This project is undertaken in association with Noble hospital who supported the previous project also, with their expertise and facilities. Besides, they have projects for the environment, providing solar lights and solar pumps for irrigation to farmers. Another eco-friendly project is waste segregation and management. Speaking on the occasion, DGE Pankaj Shah encouraged the club by expressing that RCPMC appears to be a vibrant club based on the work being carried out and felt confident that their very good work would continue during the coming year too.
Incoming President, Ravi Mishra reiterated the commitment of the club and assured that RCPMC would embark on multiple initiatives in the areas of education and skilling, medical, healthcare and societal impact. He firmly believes that Rotary is engaged in selfless service to society and RCPMC will continue to diligently focus its efforts on helping the underprivileged on a sustainable basis. 10 new members joined the club on installation day.
