Rotary District 3131’s ‘Green Society’ Initiative Highlights Sustainable Practices
Pune, 18th September 2025: Rotary District 3131, under its ‘Green Society’ avenue, organized a program at Gandhi Bhavan to promote sustainable living and raise awareness on environmental concerns. The initiative aims to guide housing societies and communities on adopting greener practices through advice, familiarisation, and practical improvisation.
The event was graced by PDG Manjoo Phadke, Suhas Patwardhan, Dr. Pravin Saptarishi, and Zonal Chairman Rtn. Dayanand Panse as guests of honour. The programme was presided over by esteemed members of the Green Society initiative. The dignitaries shared insights on the role of cooperatives and community participation in strengthening environmental efforts.
Expert sessions formed the core of the event, covering key topics such as:
Rainwater management by Col. Dalvi
Waste management by Gokarne
Energy conservation by Gaurang
Terrace gardening by Pravin Shete
In addition, small talks were delivered by representatives of Arambh Foundation and My City My Promise, emphasizing collective responsibility for a cleaner and safer environment.
The event concluded on a positive note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to sustainable practices within their societies.
The programme was hosted by Rotary Club of Pune Sahawas and co-hosted by Rotary Clubs of Karvenagar, Yuva, Wisdom and Synergy, Warje, MidEast, Kothrud, and Pashan.
