RPO Pune to Hold Special Tatkaal Passport Drive on Feb 21
Pune, 18th February 2026: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) Pune will hold a dedicated passport application drive for Tatkaal applicants on February 21, 2026, to help citizens with urgent travel needs secure earlier appointment slots.
Officials said the one-day drive will take place at the Passport Seva Kendra in Mundhwa as part of an initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs to speed up passport processing and improve access to time-sensitive services.
Authorities noted that the Tatkaal category has stricter eligibility conditions and requires additional documentation compared to regular applications. Many applicants are unable to complete the process due to incomplete paperwork or failure to meet eligibility rules. Applicants have therefore been advised to carefully review Tatkaal guidelines and ensure their documents are complete before the appointment to avoid rejection or delays.
Under existing legal provisions, passport authorities are empowered to verify applicants’ credentials and may request additional documents or information if necessary for proper processing.
To participate in the special drive, applicants must submit forms online under the Tatkaal scheme, complete the payment process, and then book a slot by selecting the Pune Passport Seva Kendra and the specified date. Officials clarified that only Tatkaal appointments—both fresh and re-issue cases—will be handled during the drive, and walk-in or normal category applications will not be accepted.
The special drive will run from 9 am to 5 pm, and applicants have been instructed to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled time as mentioned on their application receipt.
