Pune, 25th February 2026: The Income Tax Department has attached land in Mohammadwadi linked to Goel–Patel–Thakwani Developers to recover pending tax dues of ₹66,65,22,406, even as Pune Police investigate an alleged ₹600-crore land scam involving the same prime parcel.

According to an order issued by the Tax Recovery Officer (TRO), Central, Pune, the attachment has been carried out under the Second Schedule of the Income-tax Act. The order restrains the assessee from transferring, selling or creating any charge on the property until further notice, effectively freezing transactions related to the land.

Meanwhile, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune Police has registered an FIR at Koregaon Park Police Station in connection with the alleged ₹600-crore fraud. Vishwajeet Jhavar, Director of Marvel Realtors, is the complainant.

The FIR names Rajendra Goel of Goel Ganga Developments; Satyen Patel and Jayesh Patel of Sahyadri Industries Limited; along with Vipul Patel, Vallabhbhai Patel, Purushottam Patel, Chetan Patel and Jignesh Patel.

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly sold the same land to multiple buyers despite subsisting agreements, relied on forged Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) exemption orders, and submitted false affidavits before the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to obtain statutory sanctions. The land parcel in Mohammadwadi is estimated to be worth around ₹600 crore.

Earlier this month, EOW teams conducted searches and carried out panchnamas at offices linked to the case, including the Special Investigation Team (SIT) office and company premises. Investigators also visited the residential premises of the accused.
