Rs 8.73 Crores Recovered From 5 Builders In Mumbai And Pune For Compensation To Customers: MahaRERA
Mumbai/Pune, 13th July 2023: MahaRERA has been actively working with the respective Collector’s offices to execute the warrants issued by MahaRERA for compensating the customers.
As a result of MahaRERA’s efforts, the auction process has been initiated, leading to the seizure of properties owned by the developers involved. In some cases, developers have voluntarily come forward to settle the compensation amounts or reach a compromise with the affected consumers to avoid income forfeiture.
A total of 8 crore 72 lakh 71 thousand rupees has been paid as compensation by 5 developers across Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, and Pune for 9 warrants. Earlier, 11 developers had paid 8.57 crore for 20 warrants. The remaining compensation arrears have also been settled without resorting to auctions.
To date, MahaRERA has issued 1015 warrants for the recovery of damages totaling 623.30 crore rupees. Out of these, MahaRERA has successfully recovered an amount of 131.32 crores through 180 warrants. MahaRERA continues its diligent efforts to recover the remaining amount.
Among the developers who have paid compensation or reached a compromise with customers are Samriddhi Developers in Mumbai city and Wondervalue Realty Pvt. Ltd., totaling 6.46 crores. Additionally, Wondervalue Developers provided a compensation of 6 crore 26 lakhs to a customer.
In Mumbai suburbs, Reliance Enterprises and Ruchi Priya Developers Pvt. Ltd. have paid a compensation of 1 crore 84 lakh 46 thousand rupees, with Reliance providing 1 crore 78 lakh as compensation to a single customer.
Darode Jog Homes Pvt Ltd in Pune has also compensated one of its customers with an amount of 42 lakh 25 thousand rupees. The Tehsildar, Radhika Havel Bartakke, presented the cheque to the concerned beneficiaries on behalf of the developer.
