RSS Never Accepted the Constitution, No Question of Wishing Them Well: Owaisi in Pune
Pune, 30th September 2025: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said there was “no question” of extending good wishes to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the completion of its 100 years.
“The RSS has not accepted the Indian Constitution; they only accept Manusmriti. After Gandhiji’s assassination, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel banned this organization. How can we wish them well when they never participated in the freedom struggle? Two shores of the sea can never come together,” Owaisi remarked.
He was speaking at an interaction organized by the Pune Union of Working Journalists (PUWJ) at Patrakar Bhavan in Navi Peth, in the presence of PUWJ President Brijmohan Patil and General Secretary Mangesh Falle.
Owaisi also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his social media post after India’s Asia Cup cricket victory against Pakistan. “The Prime Minister compared it to ‘Operation Sindoor.’ If we had not played the match with Pakistan, they would not have received the money. It is shameful to compare the sacrifice of our army with a cricket match,” he said.
Accusing the government of neglecting public concerns, Owaisi said, “BJP MPs have been elected only in the name of Modi. A magician is sitting in Delhi and destroying the roots of democracy. No one is paying attention to education, employment, paper leaks, or corruption. The poor are becoming poorer, the rich are getting richer. Rapists are being given concessions, but the common man is not getting justice.”
Commenting on the socio-economic conditions of Muslims, Owaisi said Dr. B.R. Ambedkar had emphasized equality through education, but successive governments had failed to act honestly. “India will not remain united unless Muslims are accepted as Indians. If we want to become a world guru, we must treat everyone equally,” he added.
On international issues, Owaisi asserted that Pakistan would continue to remain a threat to India. “As long as its army is dominant, its policy will remain anti-India. Therefore, India should always remain vigilant,” he said.
