Pune: With Minister’s Backing, Nilesh Ghaywal Obtained Passport, Alleges Prashant Jagtap
Pune, 30th September 2025: Pune gangster Nilesh Ghaywal, who is facing several serious criminal charges, has reportedly fled to London. Alleging political patronage, Prashant Jagtap, City President of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction), claimed that Ghaywal managed to secure a passport with the blessings of a state minister. The incident has sparked questions over whether his travel documents were issued due to political influence or with the support of police officials.
Drawing a contrast, Jagtap pointed out that noted environmentalist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk—who has been working for the nation’s progress—has allegedly been imprisoned under the National Security Act (NSA) by the central government. In protest, the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) staged a strong demonstration today at Jhansi Rani Chowk.
Highlighting Wangchuk’s contributions, Jagtap said that the Ladakh-based innovator has opened the doors of education for students in one of the country’s toughest regions and has been honored with the Magsaysay Award along with several international recognitions. By designing tents suited for snow-bound areas, Wangchuk has also provided crucial support to Indian soldiers deployed in extreme conditions, he added.
