Punekar News's photo.Sagarmitra Abhiyaan (now with 99 schools in Pune City and 94,000 students reached) now enriches itself by adding two projects: SAGAR-MAATHA Prakalpa (in partnership with Cummins, Sevadham Trust, SETU, and Vasundhara Swattachata Abhiyaan (Anil Gaekwad, Deepak Shrote and Team) near Sus-Road) and SAGAR-DHAARA Prakalpa (in Partnership with Cummins, Sevadham Trust, SETU, Gayatri Parivaar (Shailendra Patel), Symbiosis students and Parjanya (Col Shashikant Dalvi and Team) starting with a school in Bhukum where we will do rain-water harvesting).

Punekar News's photo.SAGAR-MITRA will connect children’s heads-hearts-hands to the Oceans from coast to coast in all directions; SAGAR-MAATHA will connect children’s heads-hearts-hands from Mountain tops to coastlines of oceans in every direction and continent; the SAGAR-DHAARA will connect the children’s heads-hearts-hands to the clouds and the ocean-threads descending from the clouds to the land and mountains – connecting to the rain and to the underground aquifers – till the Water Cycle is permanently and constantly in the heads, hearts and hands – the Understanding, the Love and Concern and the Individual and Team Actions – of the children.

Punekar News's photo.SAGAR-MAATHA was started on 1st September by the Vasundhara Swattchata Abhiyaan Team working on hilltops, and hill slopes greening – supported by Cummins and TAA-Sagarmitra.

SAGAR-DHAARA began on 6th September with a Field Trip to Vitthalwadi-Paud and Bhukum villages in Pune district, where Bhukum Village School was finalized for our first rainwater harvesting project with Col Shashikant Dalvi of Parjanya as the expert and mentor.
