Samarth Path Lab Owner, Worker Arrested For Issuing 62 Fake RT-PCR Reports

Pune, 3rd May 2021: The owner and a worker of Samarth Path Lab, Chikhali, have been arrested for allegedly issuing fake RT-PCR test reports for Coronavirus disease (COVID19).

 

According to police, the accused had used old reports for giving COVID test reports for 62 employees of Impressions Services Pvt Ltd, Mhalunge. The employees need the report for going to work as per the Maharashtra government’s lockdown order.

Based on a complaint from the company on April 29, Chakan police station registered an FIR against Balliram Bapu Londhe (24), owner of Samarth Path Lab, and his worker Birudev Nanasaheb Waghmode (22), a resident of Chikhali.

 

According to police, the incident took place between April 9 and 16. The company had contacted Londhe for the RT-PCR test of the employees. Accordingly, Waghmode went to the company’s premises and collected samples of 62 employees on April 9. The company received the test reports on April 16.

“As a precautionary measure, we scanned the QR codes given on the reports. 59 reports were in the name of Shital Londhe and all reports were negative for the samples collected on April 10. Three reports were in the name of Vishal Gore for the samples collected on April 14 and they were positive. We sent an email to Krsnaa Diagnostics whose reports were given by Samarth Path Lab. Krsnaa Diagnostics clarified that they had not received the samples and had not given any test reports for the 62 employees”, the complaint from the company states.

 

The accused persons have been charged for various offences under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Epidemic Diseases Act, Information Technology Act and Disaster Management Act.
